VISUAL DEVELOPMENT & CHARACTER DESIGN
CLUB PENGUIN ISLAND
When the Disney Interactive team was preparing the updated visual look for Club Penguin Island, I was lucky enough to contribute some designs to not only the base penguin, but also some of the beloved mascot characters such as Rockhopper and Gary the Gadget Guy.
CARD-JITSU SNOW
I was passionate about the general Card-Jitsu sub-brand within Club Penguin for years, so I was excited to be the lead artist on the small Card-Jistu Snow game team. For this mobile game, I did overall visual development, character designs and animation direction.
SNAZZY CAT CAPERS
For the first illustrated chapter book series that I created with Deanna Kent, I explored many different designs for the characters, especially Ophelia and Oscar.
AG IN THE CLASSROOM
These characters were designed for an initiative that teaches kids in Manitoba about agriculture! Video production by Coelement.
WIZARD AND NEWSCASTER
This fun duo was designed for an animation project that is currently in production.
EVERFOREST
As Art Director for the EverForest mobile game, part of my job is to create creatures that inhabit the world.
STEAM I.P.
These characters were created for an unreleased S.T.E.A.M. mobile app. I had to come up with a character design system that supports hero characters as well as player-customizable avatars.
EFFICIENCY MANITOBA - “BETTER WAYS TO SAVE”
In 2022, I was given the opportunity to design an overall visual identity for a series of video spots for Efficiency Manitoba. Video production by Coelement.
FOREST CREATURES
I had a great time developing the world for this (unreleased) series about a cast of forest creatures that have created a thriving ecosystem.
DAZZ, DRONE DETECTIVE
These character designs were developed for an original IP I created with Deanna Kent.
COMET GUY
Neil was commissioned to produce visual development materials for a Comet Guy pitch. Comet Guy was originally a superhero comic character back in the 1940's and 50's, and the aim of this new pitch was to introduce him to a new audience.
Neil produced new character designs for the primary characters, layout design and colours, as well as a mock comic cover.
